(Alternaria tenuissima)


 Irregular, chlorotic spots are scattered over the leaf surface. Leaf spots are rounded and smaller in size than Cercospora, and develop necrotic centers. The disease will cause distortion or crinkling of new growth.

Warm, wet conditions favor disease development.


recommendations: Minimize leaf wetness by irrigating the root ball rather than foliage. Irrigate early in the morning to minimize periods of leaf wetness. Prune to allow good air movement through the plant canopy. Fungicides may be necessary for disease management. Coverage of both leaf surfaces is essential.
